Do
Farmers Markets really make a difference?
Yes, many of the producers you will meet on a farmers market
make their living from the markets, doing one almost every
day. The success of these markets and the willingness of the
public to support them provides a living not just for one farmer
but often as not for a whole family.
I’d like to shop at my local farmers market but when
I go there I’m baffled by all the different types of
meat and vegetables
That’s understandable. Compared to supermarkets a Farmers
Market can present a huge array of unusual looking produce.
This is part of the delight of shopping at a Farmers Market.
You can find rare breed meat, old-fashioned vegetables and
fruit but most importantly you can get specialist advice from
the person behind the stall about how to enjoy the produce
you are buying. |
